Steam is great for sanitizing surfaces and light soil on hard surfaces and seats. Shampoo (wet extraction) is for deep stains and heavily soiled fabric — it injects cleaning solution and pulls the dirty water back out. If your seats have embedded stains or odors, you want shampoo, not just steam.
